The latest version sees an updated design and translation into 18 languages.
We last updated the Android version of Book Creator in June 2014.
In the meantime, Google have released a major update to Android – v5.0 Lollipop, and Red Jumper appointed a new visual designer – Imogen Adams.
Updates to the User Interface
Book Creator for Android has a whole new look now, and we’ve tweaked the User Interface (UI) in a number of ways:
- Clearer, more focused icons
- A floating Action Menu
- Easier access to Reading Mode
Imogen’s approach was to try and retain the simplicity of Book Creator, but also to introduce some colour and playfulness to the app which complements Google’s new design principles for their own apps.
18 new languages
Classrooms all over the world are using Book Creator, and we’ve reflected that by localising the app and translating it into 18 languages.
Here’s the full list of languages we’ve translated into:
- British English
- American English
- Spanish (Spain)
- Spanish (Latin America)
- Portuguese (Portugal)
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
To use Book Creator in another language, simply change the language settings of your tablet, and Book Creator will display (as long as it’s one of the languages above).
