Favorite Book Creator Feature: The translation tools!

Memorable moments

One of Tamoco’s most memorable moments involved working with a 1st grade classroom where students were creating books. She spent just 30 minutes showing the students how to use the various tools available in Book Creator. After deleting their initial creations, she encouraged them to start from scratch. When she returned two days later, the students were eager to share their progress.

"The creativity in their books was much more advanced than what they had done previously. Their faces were lighting up, and so was mine. It was a reminder that if you give students time to explore and become comfortable with a tool, there are no limits to what they can create and do!"

This experience reinforced Tamoco’s belief in the importance of giving students the freedom to explore and create, allowing their imaginations to flourish.

Right now, my favorite tool is the translator. I serve a school that has a large population of Hispanic students who are learning to speak English. The translator tool has been a game changer for the portfolios in the secondary schools I serve.

Goals and aspirations for the upcoming year

Tamoco’s primary goal for the upcoming year is to get all nine schools she serves to fully integrate Book Creator into their classrooms, not just for student portfolios but also across various content areas. She envisions students from kindergarten through 12th grade becoming creators of content rather than just consumers, using Book Creator as a tool to express themselves and demonstrate their learning.

"My goal is to get all of the schools I serve (9 total) to use Book Creator in their classrooms for student portfolios and for content area classes as well. I want students from K-12 to become creators of content instead of consumers of it."
