Memorable moments and visual elements
Book Creator has been a total game-changer in the way we teach and learn—it’s simply amazing! As a tutor working with older children, I’ve seen just how powerful and creative this app can be. One of my students is even writing her very first novel with illustrations using Book Creator—how cool is that? It’s such a versatile tool that allows kids to bring their ideas to life in the most fun and meaningful ways.
In the classroom, it’s become a favourite for showcasing student work. We’ve fully integrated it into our ICT lessons and the results have been fantastic. The younger students especially love it—they’re all about the text-to-speech feature (it’s so fun not having to deal with the typing and spelling challenges when they are trying to be creative!) and the magic pen, which makes doodling and creativity even more exciting- It makes them believe that they can draw anything if they try.
Plus, it’s such a breeze to teach essential skills like typing, colouring, and image searching with this app. The kids pick it up quickly and enjoy every moment of it. From journal keeping and sound books to full-blown multimedia projects, Book Creator has opened up a world of possibilities.
Seeing how much joy and creativity it sparks in the students is the best part. I can’t wait to see what other amazing things they’ll create next with this awesome app!
Empowering Literacy, Inclusion, Creativity, and Reflection
In my classroom, the goal is to ensure that every student has access to digital skills and can see how they can be actively used instead of passively used.
Recently, we designed our individual digital portfolios. The students were tasked with creating their own front page and sometimes they shoot a video of themselves on the first week of school to see how much progress they make by the end of the year. For one of my students, who is autistic, this really helps her become a member of the class. Using Book Creator's voice and video recording feature, she is able to also share about her first week of school and if she is not up to this, she can also share pictures.

Meanwhile, we noticed the presence of friendship cliques within the classroom, so the picture feature helped us to smooth past awkward friendly moments as the children were eager to have everyone’s photo on their portfolio.Sometimes when the students initially struggle with writing, they can use the audio tool to narrate a story about their projects or learning, allowing them to express ideas confidently while building their literacy skills.
The best part is when they tour around the class to spot each other’s books. The sense of pride and ownership is amazing and it also brings out the confidence in the children who are technologically strong as they are so eager to offer technical support to their peers in class.
