Wre excited to showcase our partnership with Epic Books, an online reading platform that brings high quality titles to the hands of millions of students around the world. We recently collaborated with the Epic! team to build a series of activity books to accompany their library of books.
These templates are crafted to engage students in creative, standards-aligned literacy activities that go hand-in-hand with any book in the Epic Library. These activity books let students dive deeper into reading, reflect on story elements, and develop essential literacy skills in a fun, interactive way.
Why Reading Response Journals?
Reading response journals are a game-changer in literacy education, helping students connect more deeply with what they read. When students take the time to reflect on their reading through journaling, they’re not just retelling a story—they’re diving into what the story means to them.
This process builds comprehension, one of the pillars of literacy, as it guides students to think critically, analyze characters, and make personal connections. By encouraging them to pause, process, and record their thoughts, reading response journals turn reading into an active, meaningful experience that sticks.
It’s like having a continuous conversation with each student about their reading journey.
Just as Epic Books makes reading exciting, Book Creator transforms reading response journaling into a fun, interactive experience. With a flexible, user-friendly design, students can personalize their journals with text, images, drawings, and even voice recordings—supporting various learning styles and encouraging authentic expression.
Book Creator’s collaborative features also allow students to share their work, offer feedback, and engage in discussions that strengthen comprehension and peer connection. Together, Epic and Book Creator empower students to read, respond, and reflect, turning books into creative journeys aligned with literacy standards.
Dive into adventure with new Cat Ninja Activity Books!
We’re thrilled to introduce two brand-new activity books created with Epic to accompany the Cat Ninja Tales series. Packed with interactive literacy activities, these books let students go beyond the pages of Smells Like Trouble and Training for Trouble to explore character motives, map story arcs, and dive into vocabulary—all through fun, creative tasks.
Designed to meet literacy standards and align with the science of reading, these remixable templates bring Cat Ninja’s world to life, encouraging students to reflect, create, and connect with the stories in ways they’ll love.
