If your teacher dashboard is overflowing with student libraries, you’re not alone. Many Book Creator power users have told us they struggle to find and organize their content—especially when new libraries get pushed to the bottom of the list.
As the number one requested feature of 2025, we’ve heard your feedback loud and clear: you want better navigation, more control, and an easier way to manage everything from one place.
That’s why we’re rolling out a set of powerful new features to help you take charge of your Libraries dashboard. With better visibility, easier search, and the ability to move and identify your libraries more efficiently, your dashboard is about to become a whole lot more user-friendly.
New navigation bar
At the top of your teacher dashboard, you’ll now see handy new navigation tabs to make finding your libraries easier: My Libraries, Shared with Me, and Central Libraries. These quick links allow you to jump straight to the type of library you’re looking for. (Note: "Central Libraries" will only show in the nav bar and on your dashboard if your account is part of a Domain license.)

The new Library view in Book Creator helps you easily switch between "My Libraries," "Shared with Me," and "Central Libraries" using the updated navigation tabs.
We’ve also moved the + Create a new library and Join a library button to the top of each library section—no more scrolling endlessly to the bottom!
Sorting
Want full control? You can now sort your libraries either alphabetically, by date created, or using a custom sort. Your selected sort order will be displayed clearly on the dashboard. (Note: "My Books" will stay pinned at the top left regardless of sorting.)

Choose how you want your libraries displayed—alphabetically, by date created, or use a custom sort to organize them exactly how you want.
You can use drag and drop to reorder your libraries manually! Just click and hold, then move the library card wherever you’d like. Once you’ve reordered your dashboard this way, your sort order will automatically switch to Custom—a smooth, intuitive interaction similar to how you rearrange pages within a book. (Note: Touch screen devices may need to use keyboard controls to drag and drop properly.)
Search
All accounts will now have access to a powerful search bar right in the navigation bar. Simply type in the name of a library to jump straight to it. Even Central Libraries will appear in your search results if they match your query. Click on a result, and that library will open instantly.

Use the new search bar to instantly locate any library by name—including Central Libraries tied to your school or district.
Customize your view
You can also choose an icon and color for each library to personalize the experience for you and your students. Use colors and icons to indicate projects, subjects, class periods and more!

Add a splash of color and choose from a variety of icons to visually organize your libraries by subject, purpose, or project.

One Comment on “Power Up Your Dashboard: New Tools to Organize Your Libraries”
I have already been using this feature and it is a great help; I no longer have to navigate around to find my many classes’ libraries – I can organise them alphabetically instead!
Next, please make the library icons smaller so I can get six in a row!! It would also be great if I could arrange them like I can arrange icons on the desktop, leaving a blank space at the end of the row to line them up more efficiently!
